司南盘尺1寸:13*13厘米。勺柄约为：6.5cm。我国是利用磁石指极性制造指南仪器最早的国家。司南由黄铜地盘与磁勺组成。地盘内圆外方，中心圆面下凹；圆外盘面分层次铸有十天干，十二地支、四卦，标示二十四个方位。当勺体静止时，勺柄即指向南方,高档礼盒包装。底托为密度板（仿红木），勺子为镍钴磁。
